No link yet between hepatitis B, C cases and Ottawa clinic

In the interim report released Monday, the city's chief medical health officer, Dr. Isra Levy, says the agency has reached more than 90 per cent of the patients who were potentially affected by the lapse.
Levy says the agency conducted 4,353 tests. Of those:
  • 8.5 per cent, or 369 patients, showed evidence of hepatitis B infection
  • 0.9 per cent, or 39 patients, showed evidence of hepatitis C infection
  • none of the tests came up positive for HIV
"While new cases of hepatitis B and hepatitis C have been diagnosed through this testing, no cases to date have been linked with the clinic," the report said.
